E-commerce is more than just
selling stuff on the web. It's
a way of doing business, which allows everyone you do business with
to have real-time access to the right information.
Our experience in developing
e-commerce and transactional sites spans a wide range of market
sectors. Using existing
e-commerce technology helps us bring clients to market faster.
E-commerce has five main features:
| Merchant
account |
|
This
account allows businesses to accept credit card payments over
the Internet.
|
| Secure
server and SSL protocol |
|
This ensures the privacy of your visitors and the security of transactions. We use the following methods to provide protection for conducting transactions online: firewalls, encryption, virtual private networks, and intruder detection systems. This is the same technology that financial institutions use.
|
| Payment
processing |
|
This
account is established in conjunction with a merchant account.
The two methods of accepting payment over the
Internet are:
|
-
Non-automated: The customer submits order to merchant via an e-mail or form providing credit card and customer information. The billing process is manual and requires back office resources to manually key in and process the order.
-
Real-time online
payments: The customer submits order and payment information to merchant via a secured connection. Payment information is forwarded to an online, real-time payment processor, who submits payments from the merchant web site to the major processing network. This process eliminates most of the back office functions.

| Catalog |
|
The catalog is the database listing a company's products and services. This database contains product names, item numbers, prices, different models offered, product accessories and options.

Shopping
cart

The shopping cart shows the items selected by the customer. When customers browse the web site, the shopping cart allows them to shop for multiple products and check out with the credit card when they have finished shopping.
